Many people underestimate how important high-quality shisha charcoal is for a good smoking experience. For convenience, people often use self-igniting coal or even charcoal that is left over from the last barbecue evening. Then it's no wonder if the shisha doesn't run smoothly and has a slightly charred taste. Shisha charcoal made from coconut shells, on the other hand, is always praised to the heavens and here at Dschinni nothing else comes over the (virtual) counter. But why actually?
Natural shisha coal and the power of coconut
Shisha charcoal made from coconut shells has a number of advantages. It is made of a natural material that has no taste of its own. This means you can enjoy the aroma of your shisha tobacco to the fullest without being bothered by a bitter aftertaste. In addition, it does not contain any chemical additives, as is the case with self-igniting coal, for example. But the popular natural charcoal can do even more: coconut shells have a high calorific value, which guarantees a longer burning time and easily controllable heat development. The ash formation is also very low, which means you don't have to constantly tap the charcoal cubes or get a scratchy neck.
Making the Genie Cubes
Are you wondering how the shell of a coconut is formed into a compact cube shape and ends up on your shisha ? It's very simple: the coconut shells are carbonized, then finely ground and then pressed. As soon as they have taken on the desired shape, they go into the oven and are dried there. Then all that's missing is the packaging and our Genie Cubes are on fire for your shisha.
