Shisha fruit head - an incomparable taste experience

Especially in summer, the motto for many shisha fans is: the fruitier the better. Fruit heads guarantee you a particularly intense taste and are also an absolute eye-catcher. Anyone who hasn't heard of it will be thrilled. The traditional tobacco bowl made of clay, glass or fireclay is simply replaced by a fruit and the taste takes on a unique note. Almost any round fruit is suitable for this - so there are no limits to your imagination! But how exactly do you build a fruit head?

Trim the fruit head

No matter whether you prefer a pineapple, a honeydew melon, an apple or another fruity delicacy - the first step is always to cut and hollow out the fruit of your choice. Cut it open so that one part is about the height of a normal head . You then have to hollow this out. To do this, pre-cut with a knife and then remove the pulp with a spoon so that a seflex fits well in the end. If you want to use a chimney attachment for the setup, we recommend briefly pressing it in the middle of the pulp. This means you can use the diameter to orientate yourself on the resulting impression. Especially with an apple, it is important that you do not remove too much pulp. If the wall thickness is too thin, the head can break through.

Compatible with the head adapter

The fruit head has to be connected to the smoke column somehow. That's why it's important to use a knife to drill a hole in the bottom that fits the head adapter. It's better to start small and use the head adapter to test when you've reached the right size.

Now traditionally toothpicks are used. To prevent molasses from dripping into the smoke column or tobacco from blocking the hole for the head adapter, insert the toothpicks horizontally into the head so that a kind of grid is created. Another plus point: You save tobacco because the toothpick grid reduces the filling capacity of the bowl. It's easier and more elegant if you simply place the Seflex in the cavity instead of the toothpick grid and then fill it with tobacco.

The right type of tobacco for a harmonious taste

Before you start filling the fruit head with tobacco , the question arises as to which type of tobacco you should use. The best flavors are those that harmonize with the fruit and underline the taste. But mint also gives a special kick of freshness in combination with a fruit head. Here you are spoiled for choice.

Once you have filled the bowl with tobacco up to just below the edge, you can either stretch perforated aluminum foil over it or alternatively attach your chimney attachment and place the glowing coals on top.
